My Friend-Long-Legs
Do you have a friend who you can tell everything about you, even the biggest fault you made? I do! I have one that I can say everything when I have a bad thing happened, I am embarrassed at something, or I have someone that I am interested in. He is one year younger than me, I met him while I was working as a campus reporter in one magazine. There were many chances for us to talk each other. Working as campus reporters, we would talk about how to write an article better, discuss what we thought about books that we read, and share what we want to do in the future and difficulties during the process. Whenever I call him, he would listen very well and sympathize with solicitude. Of course, we sometimes argue. But we have conversation a lot and solve those kinds of problems. He is like a Friend-Long-Legs(he cannot be called 'Daddy' because he is not that old) in terms of he listens everything that I say. "Listen…" even though I pick up a phone and suddenly tell him like that, responding "what happened?" or "tell me", he listens everything. That doesn't mean he always agrees with me. He sometimes gives me advices if I have a wrong heart.
One day, I fought with one guy friend because he said something rude to me. I was so mad at him and called to my Friend-Long-Legs with high temper. I told him everything what happened and waited to listen how he react to sympathize me. However, what he said was "Did you ask why he said like that to you? There must be a reason. I hope you guys talk each other deeply." instead of "Oh, he is so bad." At first, I felt bad because he didn't agree with me, but that made me to stop being angry and think about the friend's heart who made me angry. If my Friend-Long-Legs only just agreed with me, then my mind set would stick to the thought that the guy friend is the bad one and would not try to think about the reason. I was thankful to my friend who made me to stop being upset and think rationally. I am really happy and lucky to have a friend like him.
